The ReadSoft "Eco-Warrior" Program

ReadSoft takes pride in recognising the efforts of extraordinary companies in reducing paper consumption and contributing to a more sustainable environment.

We believe that automating paper driven processes streamline a paper-based process into an effective digital format and leads to a significant reduction in paper consumption. By reducing paper consumption, trees are saved and water consumption is reduced, all helping the earth to process carbon emissions in a sustainable fashion - in short, making a difference by contributing to environmental awareness and a "greener" earth.

An overview of the "Eco-Warrior" Program

ReadSoft's Eco-Warrior program, an employee-driven initiative, has been established to respond to these beliefs, its strong commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility and wishes to recognise the efforts of organisations that have re-engineered their processes with eco-efficient products to make an impact on the environment.

With this in mind, ReadSoft has partnered with Rainforest Rescue to participate in a rainforest replanting project in the Daintree to address the program objectives. To recognise participating companies, ReadSoft makes a donation to Rainforest Rescue to plant 100 rainforest trees on behalf of customers that implement the ReadSoft AP automation solution and who exceed processing volumes of 100,000 invoices per year. Not only are these organisations saving trees, but are making a positive environmental impact by being actively involved in a meaningful regeneration program.

(The Gartner Group estimates that the average invoice is copied 11 times. This means that for very 100,000 invoices processed, ReadSoft spares the world of 1.1 million paper copies and that Readsoft saves around 50 trees every year. Read more about the environmental impact >>)

Rainforest Rescue Plant a Rainforest project

Rainforest Rescue's Plant a Rainforest project replants and maintains previously cleared areas of the Australian Daintree rainforest and establishes habitat for the plants and animals, local to the specific ecosystem, which protects its precious biodiversity. This biodiversity maintains our atmosphere and establishes the ecosystem upon which all of humanity depends, including a rainfall generation and climate regulation. Rainforests also hold the key to future medicines of benefit to humankind.

The Australian Daintree rainforest is the most significant tropical rainforest in Australia and sustains a unique range of flora and fauna. Planting back cleared areas with rainforest trees provides important habitat for the endangered Cassowary and over 100 other threatened species found in the Australian Daintree.

ReadSoft wishes to acknowledge and recognise qualifying organisations for their contributions and efforts on this website >>

 The numbers of trees saved:

1. Source - Readsoft Australia Pty Limited internal process review efficiency studies.

2. Source - Based on one invoice being 1.5 pages long and copied twice, this equates to 450,000 pages per year. A tree produces 22,500 pages of paper (source www.timbercorp.com.au) which equates to 20 fully grown paper-producing trees per year.
