FORMS Basic, Advanced and System Admin

Prerequisites:

  • Computer Fundamentals

  • Experience navigating in a Microsoft Windows environment

Basic:

Participants will receive an overview of the FORMS product and its basic functionality. This will be accomplished via demonstrations and hands-on exercises. The FORMS process will be covered from the physical entry of the document, how it gets processed within the FORMS environment, and an output file. The training emphasizes on familiarity of the process and the day-to-day interaction with FORMS.

Introduction to FORMS:

  • Understanding the role of the five modules: Manager, Scan, Interpret, Verify, and Transfer

  • Six stages to prepare for production, including:

  • Understanding the key concepts of data capture, form identification, form adjustment, interpretation and validation

  • Creating a form definition, transaction description, and job description

  • Learning keyboard shortcuts

  • Four steps in the production process:

  • Scanning forms

  • Interpreting forms

  • Verifying forms

  • Transferring data from processed forms

  • Hands-on work with FORMS

  • Administration in FORMS

  • Learning basic administrative functions

  • Understanding the need for backup routines

Advanced:

System Administrator:

Prerequisites:

  • Extensive knowledge of client/server hardware

  • Microsoft Operating Systems (Server and Desktop)

  • Thorough understanding of PC and networks

  • Familiarity of installing applications

  • Administering Microsoft SQL databases

  • Understanding network structure and topology

  • Back up
     

The advanced section of the system administrator package will encompass details needed for installation and maintenance of the system. Overall, it is the system administrators' responsibility to maintain the PC's, servers, and network, monitor possible bottleneck of the system, as well as contact ReadSoft technical support:
